And here is a poem, written by a member of our congregation, Pat Mackie:
At least I saw the Spring
If I could take one good thing
From this time of fear and pain
It would be that I have seen the Spring
As I walked each country lane.
I have seen the swaying bluebells
In a warm and gentle breeze
The changing colours daily
Of our great, majestic trees.
The colours of the wildflowers
Such simple beauty seen
As one by one they came to view
Pink, yellow, blue and green
And most of all the birdsong
Oh! What can I say?
To hear that chorus in the trees
Through April into May.
My worries seemed to fade away
For a moment I was calm
For God's pure beauty of the Spring
Was to my heart a balm.
So thank you God for this great gift
And as blossom fills the air
I'll think of those in sickness
And say a silent prayer.
So through these times of troubles
When church bells couldn't ring
At least I found one good thing
At least I saw the Spring.
